Never good enough mom, dad, you can't please you and so kids and this is especially, I'm

not hammering on Christian parents but we're very intentional parents and we have a lot

of expectations on us and so sometimes we are the most rigid parents there are and sometimes

in Christian homes I find that there's this great vibe because the kids are like you have

higher expectations of me than God does. God seems to be pretty happy with me but you

never are and so then they just begin to shut down and then that's when you've got

to kind of go back to okay it's it's praise for progress that's start to notice the

little thing. This week I'm back with Kirk Martin from celebratecom.com I know you

know there are big fans of all the episodes I've done with him in the past about calmly

parenting about helping strongwilled children he also does a lot of work helping parents

with children who have ADHD and today he and I are kind of all over the place but that's

how I like it. We spend some time at the beginning talking about what to do when you're solo

parenting and that's different to me than single parenting I do not even try to think

that when my husband has gone on a business trip that I'm a single parent because there

is a whole lot more to being a single parent and you single moms out there I want to give

you the credit you deserve that is a really high calling and we want to be there for you

better anyway I digress we talk about what do you do when your husband's out of town

traveling and how do you help your kids step up to the challenge we also talk about a couple

questions that he's gotten one being what do you do when you have now decided to calmly

parent but you feel disconnected from your child how do you reconnect with them and then
