Hi, everybody, welcome to the Women's Dating and Confidence Podcast. My name is Amber, and today I want to do some Q and A with you.

0:18.0

Over the year and more that I have had this podcast, I've been getting questions from

0:25.6

you all, and every once in a while I'll sprinkle one of them in, but they are starting to add up.

0:32.0

So I wanted to get through some of them today, but I'm just looking right now at the Google Doc where I put all of

0:39.2

the questions that I get and it's 10 pages long. So we might not get to everything. And then in

0:45.6

addition to that, a lot of questions come on Instagram. So I'm just going to try to go for it.

0:53.1

And although the questions may seem random, what I hope to do is uncover the principle that is tried and true and timeless within the question.

1:05.3

Like, it might be a random question, but there's usually a principle about attraction that you can apply to your

1:11.2

own dating life in there. So let's get started. Hey, Amber, I love your podcast and your advice. So I have a

1:19.0

question about texting. Ugh, the dreaded texting questions, right? Well, here it is. Should men

1:25.1

initiate each text conversation and is texting all day every day

1:29.3

a realistic expectation? Is it a bad thing when there's a day that he does not text you? I really

1:35.5

could use some solid advice on this awful subject. Thanks. Um, so first of all, should men initiate each text conversation? No. And you have to think about it from his perspective. Like, guys are just like you. They wonder if you're going to text them back and he would probably feel insecure and maybe like you're dissing him or not wanting to communicate with him if he's the one that's always texting you first.

2:06.3

So I would say try to keep it 50-50, but that's not a hard and fast rule either.

2:11.6

Like it's okay if maybe two days in a row you're the person who initiates it.

2:16.2

And if you feel like you're starting to feel like

2:18.9

you're always initiating it, then I would maybe give him an opportunity to initiate it.

2:25.0

I remember I was dating someone a long time ago, and although I really liked him, it was kind of

2:32.7

challenging for me in the very beginning when we were dating

2:36.9

because I felt like every time I looked at my phone, he had texted me again.

2:42.6

And it was like I didn't even have an opportunity to miss him or think about him or even have the intention of texting him because he was so on top of it that

2:53.2

there was no space for me to have that desire on my own. So I actually ended up telling him that,
