In today's Q&A, I'm going to answer a question that I've gotten from a lot of people, both online and

0:06.8

personal friends. And that is, does it matter where I buy seeds? The short answer is yes. In my experience,

0:16.8

it does matter where I buy seeds. When I first started my garden,

0:21.6

I just bought seeds from my local big box store,

0:24.6

and I'm not saying that they did terrible,

0:26.6

but once I started buying from reputable online seed suppliers,

0:31.6

I saw a huge difference,

0:33.6

and not only germination rate,

0:35.6

but also in the performance of the crops

0:38.4

themselves now if I'm in a pinch I will still go and I will still buy a seed

0:43.2

packet at my big box store if I need something really fast or if the online

0:47.8

seed catalog is sold out and that was a case last year with two crops that

0:53.7

actually did really well for me. I bought some

0:55.7

Zinia seeds that were incredible. And I bought my compact cucumber, pickling cucumber seeds from a big box

1:04.7

store. I believe they were picklebush. I think I've gotten them in Space Master mixed up,

1:09.2

but when I was doing my seed inventory, I found that they were picklebush and they did incredible. So I'm not saying that seeds that are

1:15.3

purchased from a big box store won't perform for you. I'm just saying that I have gotten

1:19.3

better results when I buy seeds from a reputable online seed supplier. Now, you notice the word reputable that I've mentioned a

1:29.9

couple of times. I've also been burned by buying seeds or plants from just a regular seed

1:37.5

catalog that comes in the mail and I had no idea what company they were. They just had good

1:41.6

prices and that didn't work out all that well for me. So I

1:46.0

highly recommend that you do your research online. What you'll find is that if you'll ask
