Good morning. Welcome to Your World Within Daily. Today we're going to talk about perspective and how it's not what you look at. It's what you see. Our external world is created internally so I'm going to tell one of my favorite stories.

I think it was at the end of Gary Keller's one thing, but I also included it in a YouTube

video I did a few years ago called Create Yourself.

And it's about a father and a son.

And the father travels a lot for work.

So one night he's tucking his son into bed.

And his son asks, you know, when they're going to play again?

And the dad feels terrible, you know, not being around all the time for work.

So he says, you know what, tomorrow, we're going to play all day.

Father Sunday, baseball, football, you name it.

Whatever you want to do, we're going to do.

And the kid's so excited, right, can barely contain himself.

And he eventually goes to sleep.

And the next morning, dad's downstairs.

He's got his paper, his coffee, and he hears little footsteps coming down the stairs. And he thinks, man, this is a little bit earlier than I anticipated. Could he used a few more minutes, right? So he's coming up with this, you know, plan in his head to buy himself a little time. And the kid comes down. He says, Dad, let's go, let's go. And he goes, all right, one second, one second. I have a game we're going to play first. And he rips a page out of the newspaper. And it's got the world on it, right? A picture of the globe. And he takes it and he rips it into a bunch of little pieces like a puzzle. And he puts them on the other side of the table. He says, as soon as you finish these, we're out.

Okay.

And he smiles, picks up his paper, thinks he's bought himself some time.

And a few minutes later, the thing's completely done.

He says, Dad, I'm done.

I'm done.

He says, no, there's no way.

He gets up, looks at the pieces.
