Hi, my name is Andy and welcome to Radio Headspace and to Monday morning.

So I wonder if there is anything in your life going on right now, where you feel like,

I don't know, maybe your start, you'd like to move forward, you're not sure whether to move forward

and maybe not sure whether to move forward in a particular direction.

I was getting into a conversation about this, a little while back with a friend and I was trying to think of

what's the sort of best analogy for this in life?

Because I don't know about you, I have friends who I know desperately want to do other things,

but they're maybe hesitant, they're nervous of even trying it, even going near it.

Because I wonder what might happen, maybe they're worried of failure, I don't know.

Equally I have friends who are sort of quite determined and quite sort of bullish

and they'll just charge at anything regardless, almost with a sense of recklessness, you could say.

And I was sort of trying to think, so what does this sort of feel like in life?

Where we feel confident enough and courageous enough, where we can sort of move forward,

not necessarily knowing what the outcome can be, but without trying to force it too much.

And as I thought about, I thought it was a little bit like sort of gently pushing on the door of life.

You could be so scared of what's the other side of the door that you never even try to open the door.

You don't even know if it's going to open or not.

Equally you can charge through the door so quickly and with so much force

that the door falls off its hinges, it doesn't really benefit anyone regardless of what's on the other side.

So I quite like this idea that in life we maybe just test the door.

Unless we go up to the door and we actually just gently push against it to see if it's going to open,

then we're never really going to know.
