Now on to our readings.

And shalom to all of you, January 15, 2026. Public reading of

scripture. There's a lot of events going on in the world right now. A lot of events that cause

anxiety, perhaps some fear, bewilderment, and wonder about the future. One thing's for sure.

We have the truth of the word. and that's what we do here.

We read it out loud, we listen to it, and we obey it. So, without further ado,

tonight we are going to be reading two chapters from 1st Samuel, and we are going to be reading one chapter from the book of Acts, focusing on Saul, who becomes Paul next week, which we're going to look at his brutal, bloodthirsty lifestyle before he came to Jesus.

Or actually, shall we say, until Jesus came to him. And to launch us off

this evening, we're going to be also focusing on Samuel. I'm going to read two chapters out of his

life, and he has been appointed as a prophet. The word is getting out. And let's see what happens as we sit back, relax, and hear God's word.

Let's pray.

Lord, thank you for this time.

We pray that you will bless the reading of your word, bless the hearing of it,

and, Lord, the challenge of it as we seek to act and become better followers of Jesus.
