So where are we now? Well, we have recent reports of a new Omicron variant, and it is called

Nimbus. So let me tell you about Nimbus. The COVID-19 tracker program, the CDC Wonder program,

has NB.1.8.1. Nb.1.8.1.1.8.1.

or nimbus at a total of 37% of all strains through June 7th of 2025.

Now, what's been said about this new variant in this piece from Alessandra O'Connell Domenich in the Hill

titled New COVID-19 Variant Causes Razor Blade Soar Throat.

And in this piece, she says that I'm reading, and doctors and patients say the latest

COVID-19 variant spreading in the U.S., in some cases, causes a sore throat.

So painful, it has earned the nickname Razor Blade's sore throat.

I think all of us have had a sore throat.

That starts off for the viral illness and then it evolves into the nasal congestion, cough, and other symptoms. But for the

first few days, the sore throat can be severe. I know I've had this innumerable times in my life,

but sure enough Nimbus, NB1.8.1 is really picking this up as its calling card.

The Nimbus variant, which is officially known as NB1.8.1 is a descendant of Omicron, is being monitored

by the World Health Organization.
