Kyle and I are recording this intro from Miami, Florida, Wonderland. Wonderland,

not Wonderless. I keep saying Wonderless, which is the yoga festival. I'm sorry.

Oh my God, that's right. And you did breathwork at that ages ago, too. Yeah, I did some writing for

Wonderless and also did hikes and stuff for them for two years. So I think that's why I keep

screwing that up.

That's a cool event too. Very different feel, though. So today on this show we have Jeremy

Narby, famed anthropologist, right? Yeah. Cosmic Serpent book. I came across that book in my

early years. It was very motivational. Right.

And, you know, the underlying concept there was this anthropologist going into the jungle and finding new interesting culture and having his worldview kind of rattled through the

experience of ayahuasca and seeing what?

Like a lot of cross cultural mythology play out in the

experience for it yeah i mean it's been years since i read that book but some of the stuff that

really stood out was um you know this idea of the double helix like just thinking about narrative

and language like from the indigenous culture you know mother ayahuca, kind of that serpentine energy. I mean,

really is kind of like a double helix at times. But, you know, from their worldview,

maybe it's represented as a snake or the serpent from our scientific worldview. You know,

maybe we see that as a double helix. And there's a lot of, you know, just different kind of like

theories around ayahuasca. I remember him talking about tobacco in there in the book as well.

So I remember, yeah, reading that when I was really young and, you know, definitely inspired me.

I'd be really excited about this whole field.

So it was super cool to sit down and chat with them.
