Rachel, Colorado. Today on the show, we have Gary Laderman. Gary is really amazing individual.

I first ran into his work on the Joe Rogan podcast.

Somebody sent it over.

It's this concept of expanding the scope of what we think is religious behavior.

Yeah, and I think that's really interesting.

So Gary recently published a book

called Don't Think About Death, a memoir on mortality, and I'm really excited to check that one out

when I get the opportunity. And I believe Gary is a professor at Emory. And that is correct. Yes,

Emory is a university in Atlanta, Georgia, United States. But yeah, Gary says it's a great fertile ground for research. So we did into that a little bit in the recording. I recorded this one ages ago. I think it was like five months back maybe. Yeah, possibly like November when I was hanging out in Phoenix for a week with family.

So interesting stuff.

We're figuring out how to minimize our backlog here.

Anyway, Gary is, yeah, professor at Emory, professor of religion,

religious studies, and just really, really excited that Gary came on. I think this topic is

really important to us as the psychedelic world because there's a lot of religious thinking,

and we don't see it as such.

We should see what's religious, what's scientific, what's purely just culture and fads.

And we can understand how we're acting a little bit better if we do that.

You know, let's not, just because we're calling it religious doesn't downplay it.
