Tonight, talking about internet use

and why am I giving this talk? Well, generally this is not the kind of talk I would give. It seems more the purview of social commentary or something that should be covered in a journal of clinical psychology.

But I get a lot of requests for some reason to give a talk on psychological and spiritual perspectives on social media, internet, and so forth.

And so I like to think of myself as a full service

Darma center in keeping with that delusion.

I'm going to try to live up to the requests.

So this is by no means going to be a comprehensive talk

because it would be impossible in the course of 35 minutes to give a comprehensive talk on what is now

perhaps one of the most prevalent usages of our time. In fact, the average global internet user spends around

seven hours per day online. That's roughly in the same ballpark as how much we work and sleep. Internet does have many, many profound advantages from any spiritual and psychological perspective without remote working apps, for example, such as slack,

base camp, Zoom, Trello, etc.
