Eliza Lizzie Halliday spent the early part of her life in Ireland.

She was known as Maggie.

She was the youngest of nine children, born to John and Pam McNally. Her siblings were Sam, Frank,

John Jr., Rosa Ann, Mary, Nancy, Jane, and Martha. During Lizzie's upbringing, the potato

famine arose, leaving all of Ireland's population to starve, as it was the

sole crop they depended on. The British government was largely indifferent to their suffering,

which exacerbated the problem. It was during this time that Lizzie's parents decided to migrate to the United States.
