Summary

Having OCD can be a lonely experience. Kids can feel like there is no one else out there who gets their struggles.

And really, who can blame them?

The media (and even worse social media) often spend their time talking about OCD like it’s a meme or an adjective.

But feeling alone does more than impact the mood and self-esteem. It can stand in the way of progress and impact our child’s long term success.

In this week’s episode of the AT Parenting Survival Podcast I talk about why it’s SO important to help kids with OCD not feel alone - and how we can go about doing that!

Here are some resources I discuss during the episode:

🌸 Books

What to Do When Your Brain Gets Stuck

Practice Being Brave

The ACT Workbook for Teens with OCD

Stuff That’s Loud (for Teens)

The OCD Workbook for Teens

Everything is an Emergency (older teens)

🌸 Youtube channel

🌸 Support Groups

IOCDF

AT Parenting Community (support group meetings included in membership)

🌸 Classes

Crush OCD for Kids & Teens
