host Child Therapist Natasha Daniels.

0:28.0

Well, hello there and welcome to another episode of the AT Parenting Survival Podcast. Today I'm going to be tackling a topic that comes up all the time with somebody who I am so honored to have on the show with Dr.

0:37.4

Ellie Leibowitz from the Yale Child Study Center who developed the space program and the space program is a fantastic framework to

0:46.3

approach kids with anxiety or OCD or and or OCD because it really is very parent focused. And if you are raising a child with

anxiety, you're O. C. D. Like I am, you know, to the power of three. Or you're a therapist. You understand that sometimes you have a child who is unable or unwilling

or a combination of both to work on their struggles

1:09.4

because it's really the only

1:34.0

program the only like therapeutic modality that I've seen out there that is out

1:38.0

there that is not dependent on your child's buy-in or their motivation.

1:43.2

If you have that, that's fantastic,

1:46.0

because it can only help, it can't hurt,

1:48.7

but it's not dependent on that.

1:50.9

And we all do things to accommodate our child's anxiety or OCD and we all respond in certain ways that can grow or minimize that behavior.

1:59.0

And we do clarify as I talk to him that it's not about parents causing these behaviors because most of us are not doing that.
