0:11.0

Hello there, I hope you are having a great day. Today I want to talk to you about

0:16.1

the link between sensory processing disorder or sensory issues and

0:25.0

unfortunately I think that a lot of times those issues and anxiety

0:28.0

and unfortunately I think that a lot of times those issues are treated in two completely separate worlds.

0:34.8

You know, a lot of times sensory issues are treated in the occupational therapy world,

0:39.4

and anxiety obviously is treated in the child therapy world. But as a child therapist I can tell you

give me a history on their anxious kids will start to describe a kid with a lot of sensory issues.

0:56.4

And so I find myself not only being the child therapist to address the anxiety,

1:00.7

1:21.6

forever to get ready in the morning because she doesn't know what to wear.

1:25.0

She doesn't like tags. She likes only cotton clothes that are soft. She can't wear collars.

1:32.0

Things are too tight. things are too loose, her shoes have to be

1:36.3

really tight, or her shoes have to be really loose, or she can't wear sneakers, she has to

1:41.4

wear flip-flops, or crocs, forget about jeans, that's just totally

1:45.8

out of the question. And I'll be really lucky if I can even get near her hair, let alone do any fancy

1:51.8

little style to it.
