So let's get on with the topic for today. There are a lot of things that we do as parents that seem really good, but they really aren't.

So I want to talk about that today, but I do have to say, first, before I even get started, that our kids are going to totally survive. I think there is this whole philosophy right now, and I don't know if my parents and your parents had this issue as well and I just didn't know it because I was a kid,

but I feel like, you know, we're constantly scrutinized as parents and everybody's got an opinion and

everyone's got the latest and greatest book or read the latest and greatest blog post

or is in that special mommy group and with all of those

things and all that information it's like we shouldn't do this and you shouldn't do that

and you know this is bad this is good and I feel like it makes all of our head

spin and I'm a child therapist and it makes my head spin I'm here to tell you that

you know our kids are going to survive. I survived and we would pile up into the station wagon and they didn't have seatbelts. You know, there's a lot of things going on back in my day that we would never do now.
