I think a reasonable place to start this topic is to look at a study from October 17, 2017

in the Journal of Psychopharmacology. And the title of that article was called The Relationship

of Classic Psychedelic Use with Criminal Behavior in the United States Adult Population. And if you jump to the very end of that study, the conclusion, I'm just going to quote them,

is that having ever used psilocybin is associated with a decreased likelihood of larceny,

theft, and other property crimes, as well as decreased likelihood of assault in other violent

crimes."

And so if you're less likely to steal and cause property crimes and hurt other people, if you

have ever taken psilocybin, it raised the question of whether this drug should be used in forensic settings like

meaning should it be used in people that have criminal pass or criminal intents and while I definitely

won't be going over all the studies of psilocybin it is interesting to me that this is becoming more

of a research topic in formal medical journals and it's not that surprising to me that this is becoming more of a research topic in formal medical journals.

And it's not that surprising to me. I think the attempt to bury psilocybin has been as successful

as attempting to bury a seed in the ground.

I find it very akin to what happened to Galileo with the church.

You know, the church was saying, we don't really care what the science shows. We don't

care what you're seeing through your telescope. If we say the earth is the center of the universe

and the center of the solar system, then you need to accept that because that's what we feel is

our interpretation of God and religion, and of course that's insane. In this anti-science pushback is not just from religion.

There are all kinds of people that push back on science.

You know, I remember when I was a kid back in 2000,

watching the foo fighters be major HIV deniers.

I say I was a kid, but I was actually in residency.
