There are so many types of milk out there these days, and I'm only talking today about

0:05.2

cow's milk, not talking about human milk or soy milk, and I always thought soy milk was just

0:10.8

regular milk trying to introduce itself in Spanish.

0:13.8

But when it comes to cow's milk, most of the cows that are being milked are pregnant,

0:19.6

and as a result, they have high hormones like high levels

0:22.7

of estrogens and progestions and other hormones which doesn't mean it's automatically bad but

0:29.3

we have to recognize that there are increased hormones in milk and even those that are pregnant

0:34.4

or are not pregnant often the cows that that are being milk are bred to produce

0:39.0

high levels of IGF1. And IGF1 is also known as insulin-like growth factor 1, which is a very

0:46.6

anabolic hormone, meaning it will make you bigger and stronger if you consume it. And that's

0:53.2

why a topic like this can be kind of hard,

0:55.1

because there's a lot of people out there who buy supplements to increase IGF1 and want that effect,

1:01.0

and others who would say, oh my gosh, I don't want that kind of anabolic hormone effect.

1:06.4

IGF1 stimulates almost every cell in the body to grow, it's actually the benefit of growth hormone,

1:13.6

meaning you release growth hormone from the anterior pituitary, or if you take growth hormone

1:19.5

supplementation illegally, then IGF1 is released from the liver, and it promotes this growth

1:26.8

effect throughout the body. I certainly have and will

1:30.1

continue to argue it's a bad idea to supplement growth hormone or IGF1 stimulators and

1:35.9

there are a lot of those out there other than growth hormone. And the reason I would recommend

1:40.6

against it is the evidence is pointing towards this stimulation of cell growth

1:46.9

also can stimulate cancer growth and short in life. Yet that being said, I think it's way too

1:53.5

premature to say that the plasma increases in IGF1 from cow's milk is a dangerous thing. I don't think
