Hey folks, welcome to Sudapod, the weekly horror podcast. I'm your host, Alistair, spinning

the wheels of steel and the mixer of mayhem is the magnificent Marty. And our story this

week was first published in Knight's No K of the Roundtable, 1926. The best known supernatural

works of Marjorie Lawrence include number seven, Queer Street, a collection that brings

together the case histories of an occult detective, Dr. Miles Pinoya, as related by his

assistant Jerome Latimer. Lawrence stated that this series was inspired by Alginon Blackwoods

John Silent Stories and Dion Fortune's Dr. Tavina series. Like Amazing Claire before her,

Lawrence became a confirmed spiritualist and believed in an incarnation in later years.

According to the author, my interest in it dates actually from the moment where I saw

a near-relation through Knight's after he died, when he gave me specific instructions

about the finding of a box containing important papers. They were found precisely where he said,

and from that moment I became deeply interested in what I have called the other side.

Somewhere that man was obviously still alive. Somewhere he was thinking of us, anxious

to help caring what happened in a word, he was still alive somewhere and I was determined

to find out where. Lawrence is a really interesting figure. We actually have two other stories
