Hey everyone, welcome to Pseudopod, the weekly horror podcast. I'm

Alistair your host and this week's story comes to us from Tim Pratt. Tim

publishes a new short story every month for his Patreon supporters.

notes. Tim Pratt is the author of over 20 novels including The Deep Woods and Airs of Grace and

many short stories.

His work has appeared in the best American short stories, the year's best fantasy, the Mammoth

Book of Best New Horror and other nice places.

He's appeared here more than any other author. He's a Hugo Award winner and has been

a finalist for World Fantasy, Sturgent Stoker, Mythopoeic and Nebula Awards, among others.

He lives in Berkeley, California and works as a senior editor at Locust, a trade magazine devoted to science fiction and fantasy publishing. He tweets, as he describes it, a lot, at at T as in aside Tim's most recent novel the wrong stars is

hands down my favorite science fiction novel of the last six to eight months. It is extraordinarily good and

solves the equation that Firefly posits in a way which is much more streamlined

and surprising and does a couple of things which you will never see coming.
