Hello everyone. Welcome to Pseudipod, the Weekly Horror Podcast. I'm

Alistair, your host, and this week, well, this week, let's talk about

misanthropy because that's a hat that people in our neck of the woods are at times overly fond of wearing.

Misanthropy is categorized as a dislike of humankind, pretty extreme by anyone's standards but we all get there from

time to time. I'll give you an example. I live in a town which as Marguerite

perfectly described is named after my favorite pastime but pronounced differently.

Redding is small and London adjacent and never let you forget that.

People don't move, they dive through tiny gaps in pedestrian traffic, gather in and across shop doorways.

Generally do their best impression of London foot traffic without the added advantages of a

LEGO store, coffee shop or famous monument where people were murdered in the past being nearby. I am six foot two. I'm somewhere

in the region of 300 pounds. It is massively, endlessly, relentlessly frustrating at times to have to continually navigate my way

around people who don't know how to navigate their way around people. But only sometimes. Does that make me a misanthrope at those times?

Yes. Does it make me a misanthrope the rest of the time? No. being from the Isle of Man does.

Ha ha ha, fake laugh hiding real pain. I'm not a misanthrope. Neither are you.
