And Lord willing, we'll make it to Psalm 6.

0:05.2

These are great Psalms, really looking forward to what the Lord has for us.

0:09.1

So why don't we pray?

0:10.4

We'll ask God's blessing on our time together in His Word.

0:18.3

Father in heaven, would you, at this time, as you're always so faithful to, just settle our hearts and enable us to give you our undivided attention in our time together tonight as we study your word.

Lord, we know that what is before us here in your word

1:59.5

prayer. How long, oh, you sons of men, will you turn my glory to shame?

2:08.0

How long will you love worthlessness and seek falsehood? Selah. And for those of you who weren't

2:16.0

with us last week, this word seilah is found some 73 times in the Psalms.

2:23.6

The only other book in the Bible where you find this word is in the book of Habakkuk, and I think it's there three times.

2:30.3

The basic meaning of the word seilah is to pause, to stop, to consider. And it's

2:40.5

like a refrain in this song, which is what the Psalms are, their songs. So it's kind of like

2:48.2

you catch your breath and you stop and you consider.
