When the Son of Man comeeth, shall he find faith on the earth?

Lord, I believe, help thou mine unbelief.

May our testimonies be as deep to the strong as that of Jacob.

Hello, my friends, and welcome back to Unchaken.

I'm Jared Halverson, and I'm thrilled that today we'll be spending our time in the hymn book.

The hymn book of ancient Israel, that is, which is the Book of Psalms.

Now, the Psalms is our second installment in the Wisdom Literature of the Old Testament.

The first installment was the Book of Job, which we studied last week.

And honestly, speaking of Wisdom Literature, if Job doesn't make you wiser, I don't know who can.

And if not wiser, then at least humbler, I hope.

As we watched him wrestle chapter after chapter with the problems of the mortal condition,

or more personally what he was going through as a part of it, none of which made sense to him.

Now, if he didn't make it through our five hours with Job,

and I needed to make it that long so that you could suffer right alongside him.

But if you didn't make it, and you wanted to curse me and die instead,

then I hope you'll at least go back to the last hour or so to hear God finally break his silence,

and speak to Job out of the whirlwind.

What he says there, and what he doesn't say there, is incredibly profound.

It helps Job make sense of what he went through, and it will help us navigate similar times of trouble.

And so that's part of the message that you can't afford to miss.
