the Lord sustains and protects you as you sleep he is a shield guarding you

throughout the night he is the reason you have no fear that's God's promise to you

and it was God's promise to King David three thousand

years ago too David was in danger and on the run yet in the midst of this he knew God would protect and provide for him he arrested in

God's peace David wrote I lie down and sleep I wake again because the Lord sustains me as you prepare

to enjoy this bedtime story get comfortable and enjoy the moment after all you're receiving one of God's greatest gifts

sleep feel your head sinking into the pillow stretch out your left arm then your right arm

then your legs savor the sensation of your bed and your sheet and your blanket.

amen King David wrote Psalm 3 after he and his court had fled Jerusalem in the middle

of the night.

Tragically, his jealous son, Absalom, was leading a rebellion that was trying to dethrone David.

Eventually, they even tried to kill him.

But in the midst of this king David's faith remain strong let's take a journey back in time to 1,000 BC and experience David's peace and joy in a story based on Psalm 3 and 2 Samuel.
