Thursday nights, we're going through the Bible, book by book, chapter by chapter, verse by verse,

and we finished chapter 24 last week. We'll pick it up in chapter 25, see how far we go,

no hurry. We don't want to rush through this book, this amazing book of Proverbs,

so we've been doing pretty good chapter a week. And so that's a

pretty good pace. We don't want to miss anything that the Lord has for us. And tonight is certainly

no exception in this chapter. So why don't we pray, if you would join with me. We'll ask God to

bless our Bible study tonight

Lord thank you so much thank you for your word and for this amazing book of

Proverbs it is just so powerful so packed so full of so much in the way of

practical wisdom when practically applied to our lives can just

so powerfully change our lives and Lord that's what we are here for tonight is to hear the

life-changing truth here in your word so Lord give us ears to hear the life-changing truth here in your word. So Lord, give us ears to hear

and eyes to see what you want to show us tonight and hearts to receive from you, your word.

So, Lord, thank you in advance for what you're going to do tonight in the time that we have together

here in your word.

So verse one, we have almost an introduction of sorts to this chapter and what comes here on out from this chapter.

We're told these also verse one are proverbs of Solomon, which the men of Hezekiah, King of Judah, copied.

Now, that's interesting for a number of reasons, not the least of which is that

King Hezekiah ruled some 250 years after Solomon, which means that these writings of Solomon, these proverbs of Solomon, were preserved for a period of 250 years and then compiled and copied by King Hezekiah of Judah and his men and they were included now in the canon of scripture

and we have them in our Bibles in this book of Proverbs. I only mention that and point that out because I think we do err greatly when we are
