Hello and welcome back to Sochiology 101.

I have been asked many times to produce more short videos in responses to specific questions and proof text. And so that's what

I'm trying to do in some of these videos that have been coming out more recently that are under

the 20-minute mark for those who have specific questions. One question often comes up is with

regard to Proverbs 1633, which says, the lot is cast into the lap, but every decision is from the Lord.

Now, some Calvinist have used this as a proof text for Calvinism.

For example, John Piper, a well-known Calvinist in our world today, wrote this, or actually said

this, quote, he was asked this question first. Let me present the question first.

He was asked, has God predetermined every tiny detail in the universe,

such as dust particles and the error, including our besetting sins?

And John Piper's answer was this, yes.

Now, the reason I believe that is because the Bible says the dice is thrown in the lap and every decision is from

the Lord in quote now let me stop right there and just remind you he's being asked about

theistic determinism which is a claim of the Calvinistic worldview in other words

Calvinism qua Calvinism true Calvinist are theistic determinists including John

Piper John Calvin John MacArthur R.C. Sproul the leading Calvinist, are theistic determinists, including John Piper, John Calvin, John

MacArthur, Arscius Sprole, the leading Calvinist are theistic determinist, meaning they believe

God has determined whatsoever comes to pass. All things are in accordance with what he

sovereignly and unchangeably decreed prior to creation. And so he's using Proverbs 1633 as a proof text to demonstrate

theistic determinism. So he goes on to say this. And why would he choose the dice that is

cast into the lap? Because he is trying to think of the most random thing he can think of. And he

says that, so randomness is not random to God. God is not the least
