Protests have erupted in North Carolina as the DHS launches Operation Charlotte's Web, targeting illegal migrants in the Tar Heald State.

CBP Commander Gregory Bovino wrote on X that 81 arrests were made in roughly five hours.

He says many of the people arrested had, quote, significant criminal in immigration history.

DHS says they're targeting criminal illegal aliens in order to protect Americans.

Despite all of that, many Charlotte residents and local officials say these

operations are causing, quote, unnecessary fear and uncertainty. Hundreds gathered to protest the

operation yesterday, as many protesters are saying people are now living in constant fear.
