It has been a significant 24 hours within Russia itself as a reaction to Putin's speech yesterday.

Nearly 1400 people in 38 Russian cities have been detained already for protesting against

the decision to order a wartime mobilization.

That's according to an independent protest monitoring group.

There's also been a statement released by the jailed opposition leader, Alexey Navalny,

who's called for mass demonstrations against the mobilization.
