Would you turn with us tonight to our text that we've been looking at for some weeks now?

The third epistle of John.

You know, you've got the gospel account of John, and then you got First John, second John, third John in the back of the book.

Third John, two, we have been teaching on the subject of prosperity proven. Our title of our series is prosperity proven. And this has been our main text in 3rd John. And verse 1 we we'll read the elder unto the well-beloved Gaius whom I love

in the truth beloved I wish are the margins says pray or some say desire above all things that you may as prosper and be in health even as

thy soul prospereth how many believe this verse you know some people try to reduce this to just a greeting.

Hi, how you doing?

But if that's all it is, is hi, guys, how you doing?

Hope you're doing well.

If that's all it is, it ought not be in the Bible.

Right?

Because there's all kind of greetings that went on in those days in the church and even in

jesus ministry the bible tells us john said that uh not everything that jesus said and did was

recorded he said if everything he said and did was recorded he supposed even the world itself

wouldn't contain the books that could be written a relatively small portion of of what Jesus said and did is recorded.

We believe by the Holy Spirit for all men, amen, all generations.

And the same thing with the rest of the New Testament, including this, that this is not just some passing greeting, but this is the word of the Lord.

And I'm going to believe that the Bible is God speaking to me and to you, right?

You take it personally.
