Kala Harris as a presidential candidate may have an opportunity to make the fourth right

case on behalf of immigrants, people who come to the US to contribute to raise

families and relative safety and enhance the economic prospects of the US going forward.

Looking backward on the Trump and Biden immigration policies, we saw, and correct me if I'm if I'm wrong underneath

the particulars here a large scale reduction in legal immigration during the Trump administration, especially in the last couple of years

as a lot of those policies took hold, and not a lot to reverse them in the Biden administration.

Is that about right?

No, I think the Biden administration

has done quite a bit to reverse the decline

in legal immigration.

Certainly not as much as I would have liked or as quickly as I would have liked,

but this administration has repealed most of the restrictions and policies that were put in place by the last administration

to restrict legal immigration, setting aside the issue of asylum, which it is essentially adopted for the most part

that the Trump view about restricting that for people who cross the border illegally

but in general, it has expanded the legal immigration system,

even beyond what it was in 2016

before Trump took over.

With respect to the new candidate, Vice President Harris, who is expected to soon receive

the official nomination of her party. Do we have any particular sense about where she comes

down relative to Donald Trump? And I know you have a lot of well-meaning advice for everyone who has a policy-making role in this
