Grab your scriptures, and let's dive into Exodus 12, verse 7.

Now, what would you do to keep yourself and your family safe if a plague was coming that had a 100% mortality rate. I don't know about you,

but I would grab some gas masks, my one-year food supply, and my family, and I would head for the

hills. The Israelites faced this situation in real life. Moses warned that the coming Egyptian

plague would kill 100% of the firstborns in the land.

So what were they told to do?

Did they need to put on gas masks, bring some hand sanitizer with them?

No.

Moses told them to take a perfect lamb, kill it, and quote, take of the blood and strike it on the two side posts and on the upper door post of the houses.

So they were supposed to paint their door frames with blood.

Hmm.

That commandment probably doesn't make sense to most of us, and it might not have made sense to

the Israelites either.

But they did it.

And guess what?

This illogical protection saved the life of every firstborn

Israelite in a house marked by the blood of the lamb. Sometimes the spiritual advice we get from the prophet

might not make sense. But as illogical as a prophet's spiritual advice might seem, he knows what will
