0:42.4	Back in 2020, California lawmakers passed a bill that would
0:45.8	have banned the sale of flavored tobacco products at retail stores. But before it could
0:51.2	go into effect, tobacco companies stepped in and got enough signatures
0:55.0	to put this issue on the ballot.
0:57.5	So now it's up to California voters to decide whether or not to ban the sale of flavored tobacco.
1:04.0	Here's the title you'll see on your ballot.
1:07.0	Proposition 31, a referendum on the 2020 law
1:11.0	that would prohibit the retail sale of certain flavored tobacco products.
1:15.0	If Californians choose to uphold the 2020 law banning flavored tobacco,
1:19.0	it would be the fifth state in the US to do so.
