Well good evening everyone. Welcome to tonight's lecture on one of this country's most noted lives, though many would say noted for the wrong reasons. For generations, the name Benedict Arnold, has almost universally elicited a one-word description

from most Americans, traitor.

But perhaps we were wrong, or at least partly wrong.

So tonight we will hear to use the old Paul Harvey phrase the rest of the story.
