Summary

Prime Minister's Question Time, also referred to as PMQs, takes place every Wednesday the House of Commons sits. It gives MPs the chance to put questions to the Prime Minister or a nominated minister. In most cases, the session starts with a routine 'open question' from an MP about the Prime Minister's engagements. MPs can then ask supplementary questions on any subject, often one of current political significance.

I've been asked to reply as my right honourable friend, the Prime Minister,

speed and volume. Mr. Speaker, this week is Armed Forces Week. Our commitment to

armed forces is unwavering. The Strategic Defence Review outlines how we will give our

armed forces better pay, better housing and better kit, and I pay tribute to their

commitment, bravery and selflessness. Mr Speaker, this morning I had meetings with

ministerial colleagues and others, and in addition to my duties in the House, I shall have

further such meetings later today.
