Today marks five days since the murder of our friend and colleague Joe Cox.

My thoughts, and I'm sure those of the whole House are with her family and friends.

Mr. Speaker, I'm sure that the House will wish to join me in offering our thanks and best wishes to Sir Roy Stone,

who is leaving the Government Chief

Whips office and the civil service. He's worked for 13 Chief Whips and for over 20 years

has played an invaluable role in delivering the Government of the day's legislative programme.

We wish him well.

Mr Speaker, this morning I had meetings with ministerial colleagues and others. In addition to my duties in this House, I shall have further such meetings later today.
