I'm Faith Moore, and this season we're reading Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen.

Each episode, I'll read a few chapters from the book, pausing from time to time to give brief explanations, so it's easier to follow along.

It's like an audiobook with built-in notes. So brew a pot of tea,

find a cozy chair, and settle of choice by your side. And even if you're not, I know that there isn't

necessarily always really a cozy chair or always really a cup of tea. But one of the things that I

hope can be true about this podcast is that somehow listening to the podcast itself is your cozy

chair. I hope that that is what this show is to you, because

in so many ways it's what it is to me. It's sitting in a cozy chair, reading a book together

with all of you, and I'm so grateful for it, and I'm so happy to be here. And I hope that a little

bit of that can come to you today, and that wherever you are and whatever you're doing,

whether you're sitting or standing or running around, taking care of all the crazy things that

life has in store for you today, I hope that for at least this moment, this hour or so,
