I'm Faith Moore, and this season we're reading Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen.

Each episode, I'll read a few chapters from the book,

pausing from time to time to give brief explanations, so it's easier to follow along.

It's like an audiobook with built-in notes. So brew a pot of tea,

find a cozy chair, and settle in. two of story time for grownups. I'm so excited to be here with you.

We are going to be reading Pride and Prejudice. It starts today. I'm thrilled.

Welcome new listeners, people who have just joined us today for the very first time to start this

new book with us. I'm so glad that you're here. And welcome old listeners who have been with us

since the beginning or somewhere in the middle or wherever you joined,

welcome. I'm so glad to have you here. For those of you who are new, this is a show where

we read classic literature aloud, chapter by chapter, and I pause from time to time

to just give brief explanations of things that might be a little confusing,

word definitions, things like that.

I try to do it unobtrusively.

I try not to do it too much.

But the idea is that classic books are hard, and people are always talking about them and saying,

have you read this, have you read that?

And they're important books, but they're often tricky to read. And that was my experience when I

was a young adult. So it has become my goal to help people find a way in to these books. And that's

how this podcast got started. So whether that describes you or whether

you're just here because you absolutely love Pride and Prejudice, and you'd like to read it with me
