This is John Batcher in conversation with Victor Davis Hanson tonight.

I puzzle how it is that Joe Biden with the allegations of his

influence peddling in Ukraine using the offices of Hunter Biden and others.

How it is that people in the Obama administration

and in Washington today did not know about it. Victor answers comprehensively.

They did know and it gets more difficult from there to understand the scale of this,

the scale of people who knew or could have known or should have known or have forgotten.

Here's Victor. They're in power right now. They're in power right now.

And we know that people in the in the White House, such as Victoria Newland,

was a supporter of Victor Shokin. And we know that people under her direction were shocked

when Victor Shokin was threatened with firing. And that was her freelancing gambit on the part

of Joe Biden. And yet she didn't say anything. She's in power today. She's our point woman on

Ukraine. And so yeah, everybody knew about it. Barack Obama knew about it. That's why he was

kind of dismissive of Joe Biden's competency because he was not just cognitively challenged

or incompetent, but he felt that I think he felt that he was financially compromised.

I think that they all knew it. And I think the problem right now is that they did not think he was

going to be president. But when they looked at that radical field in 2016 and they looked at the

polls, they came to the conclusion that Pete Buttigieg or Cory Booker, Elizabeth Warren,

or Bernie Sanders, or any of them would not be representative of the old Democratic Party or

win the middle class or the independence. And so therefore, excuse me, in 2020. And so therefore,

they couldn't, and he'll be Clinton again. So Joe Biden was the solution. And they kept mom

at my percent. I'm John Batchett.
