fab in Taipei, Taiwan has a remote kill switch that would permit someone outside of Taiwan

in the event of invasion or catastrophe to end the usable life of the fab because of

complications Chris is about to explain. There's more to this there's also software.

So, John, ASML makes the most advanced chip manufacturing technology in the world,

and a large number of those machines are there in Taiwan for TSC, who are the best makers of advanced

chips.

It was announced or leaked this week that each of those machines is rigged with some form of a

kill switch, so should the Chinese decide to

invade the island, a button could be pressed and those machines be made

unusable. So effectively it sounds like the plot of a George Clooney movie where someone would have to get to the big red button and push it to destroy that chipmaking equipment should the Chinese decide to try to take the island.
