Who is Scott Bessett, the choice by President-elect Trump to be the new Secretary of Treasury when confirmed by the U.S. Senate?

Liz is very detailed about this. This is a market man with market colleagues.

Great deal of money over the years.

What else is important about Scott Bessett and his work with the new president, former president,

President-elect Donald Trump?

Liz explains much more of this tonight.

First and foremost, someone who has made a very great deal of money, trading stocks, investing in stocks and bonds and so forth.

And I think the reason that Wall Street is so cheered by his nomination is that he actually understands markets.

He understands how they work.

And secondly, that he is very supportive of Trump's agenda, talking about

deregulation, lower taxes, tariffs when necessary, as we have seen already, to be used by Trump

in negotiating with other countries. But he's someone that Wall Street is very comfortable with because he's been in their midst, after all, for quite a long time.

He is well known for having worked at the Soros Fund, but he was also at Brown Brothers.

He was also a Jim Chano's employee in the past.

All these guys know him well.

They're comfortable with him. But again,

I think, I think also they wanted someone that they felt would get along with Donald Trump.

And he has been an advisor to Trump. Trump picked him up on his way to speak at the economics

luncheon, I'm told, and asked him to come with him. He's relied on Scott for, you know,

a lot of his sort of economic agenda during the campaign. And I think, again, that sort of

familiarity is, is very comfortable. It's interesting that Besson was historically a Democrat, but let's face it, this cabinet is full of people used to be Democrat.
