if you've absorbed the idea that all attempts to make the world better, the kind of small

sea conservative idea that all attempts to make the world better either don't work or they make

it worse, you're going to receive the West Wing really favorably because all the characters

are doing their best as fallen creatures in the world as it is, not in the world that, you know,

leftists and other kind of idealists would have it be.

where somebody comes in, they've talked to some expert and they're like, we got to get

rid of the penny. And Sam Seaborne, his first response is like, that's absurd. Because I mean,

I get it. It seems a a little absurd but as more information comes

out and the person very like smartly explains it costs a lot of money it's an environmental disaster

because I got to manufacture this thing it's not in circulation nobody uses it blah blah we could save

all this money by getting rid of the penny he's never unmoored from the starting point of it's absurd

and all the other information as much as we're supposed to care about information and intelligence and everybody being so informed none of that moves from the initial position of well of course this is politically absurd to why would i entertain it
