This is John Bachelor speaking with my colleague Victor Davis Hanson of the Hoover Institution

about the border, about the surge of migrants coming across the border in the hundreds of thousands

in the millions over these last years. Victor and I discuss why and then the observation

that this was approved by many voices until the migrants turned up in New York, Chicago,

in San Francisco, in LA, in Boston, in Washington. Then the migrants became a challenge for the

progressives who command those cities and command those states. I'm thinking specifically

of Mayor Adams in New York, Governor Hokel in Albany looking for help from the federal government,

which at this point, without better information, we have to say, permits the migrants to come across

the border in hundreds of thousands in millions. Here's Victor.

it's now affecting them directly. But for the first, nearly the first two years of this open

border, Mr. Adams didn't say a word. None of these governors are mayor set a word because they felt

that the Texans and the Arizonans and the Floridians and all of those people were red-state red-necks,

and they thought they were ill-liberal when they voiced objections because they couldn't handle

this huge exodus coming from Mexico. All of a sudden, like a light bulb going on, these governors and

these local jurisdictions said, why not send them up when we saw it first with Martha's Vineyard,
