However, jihadists are in control of Damascus. Israel's, the IDF forces, have moved into the Golan Heights towards the DMZ and more, also Mount Hermon.

And because now this guards the northern frontier of Israel along with the border with Lebanon,

it's necessary to maintain the IDF presence.

A quick word, though, on the Israeli movement in the Kermon and in the buffer zone of the Golan Heights. I think it's important that Israel

maintain control of this and to pose a credible threat to those that may try to approach Israel

and they're trying to create a wider zone where the Sunni jihadis cannot approach Israel,

really from any angle.

That, I think, makes a lot of sense from Israel's perspective.

I would watch this, though, because as the dust settles in Syria, it may be that the new governors of Syria

choose to make this a cassis belly with Israel.
