This is John Bachelors, a conversation with my colleague Gregory Copley about the visit

by the President of the United States to Northern Ireland and then the Republic of Ireland.

Gregory finds significant symbolism in the fact that the President's vehicle, the beast,

did not display the Northern Ireland flag when it was in Northern Ireland as his customary.

Gregory connects this to what has been for some time, the suspicion that President Biden

does not favor the United Kingdom, perhaps because of its past with Ireland, perhaps because

of personal enmity towards leadership in the United Kingdom.

In any event, all of this would be minor matter except for, as Gregory explains, the important

transnational agreement called, Ocus, Gregory Copley explains.

So it was really an ongoing stub of President Biden to the UK.

And why this is important is because the United States, the United Kingdom and Australia

have signed this brand new and very dramatic global strategic alliance, Ocus, Australia,

United Kingdom, United States.

This is the most significant security pact to be signed in the past 50 years.

It's more important than later because it's a global alliance of three supposed allies

each with a special relationship with each other and, of course, the U.S. and Australia

with the UK.

But it shows that President Biden doesn't take this special relationship seriously.

After all, President Biden also in the weeks following the creation of Ocus, met an unofficial

visit with Prime Minister Boris Johnson, who flew to Washington, and rejected very, very

firmly the suggestion that the UK and the United States should have a free trade agreement
