The story of Pretty Goldilocks, also The Beauty with Golden Hair, is a French literary

fairy tale, written by Madame Delnoi.

She was a prolific author during the mid to late 1600s

and was the first person to coin the term,

This English version appeared in the Blue Fairy Book published in 1889.

The Blue Fairy Book is one of several compilations of folk and fairy tales from around the world

put together by Scottish writer Andrew Lang and his wife Lenora Blanche Allen.

While the princess in the story is named Goldilocks,

this fairy tale has nothing to do with bears or porridge.

Instead, it's about one young king's quest to marry her. She refuses his offer until it is brought to her a second time

by a kind young man named charming. He must prove himself through a series of tests, each

one seemingly more impossible than the last.
