Good evening and welcome to the Selimbi Bookshelf.

This season, which is exclusive to premium, we have two short stories by Danish author

Hans Christian Andersen.

We know our listeners are as unique as our stories and lucky for you, our bookshelf is varied

with lots of different types of works to long you into a deep sleep.

The following is a preview to give you an idea of what to expect from this season.

Hans Christian Andersen was a prolific author of poetry, novels and fairy tales in the mid-1800s.

His perhaps best known for short stories including the little mermaid, the princess and the

pea, the ugly duckling and the snow queen.

But this season will wean to two of his lesser known tales.

Many of his stories focus on concepts of purity, right and wrong and have religious overtones,

and no exception.

The first called everything in its right place follows a changing family over generations

along with the life of a humble stick from the day it's thrust into the ground until

it's a large blossoming tree.

And eventually when one of its bounds is used to make a magical flute that shows the truth

of things.

In the second story, soup from a sausage skewer, the mouse king challenges four little

mice to go out into the world and find the recipe for the titular soup, whoever manages

the fin will become the queen.

They each have many adventures and learn a multitude of life lessons.

One mouse learns the truth about the proverbial soup, but another outsmarts the king and wins
