author of When China Attacks, about the recent meetings at the White House between President

Biden, the Prime Minister of Japan, Fumio Kishilah, and the President of the Philippines,

Mr. Marcos.

What I learn is that the Philippines are critical to the defense of East Asia from the Chinese

predators, anticipating the Chinese attack on Taiwan and the region. The Philippines are critical because they are the South China Sea.

They border the South China Sea. And the bullying of these last years has indicated that China

is eager to break the Philippines will to resist. is proceeding and what needs to be done. Grand Newsom, when China attacks...

Could be and they thought they were on a role not long ago when Duterte was president in the Philippines

and it's really Chinese political warfare

which was shifting the really the Philippine elite

towards China and if you do that if you get a Philippines that's accommodating to China, that that makes your job much easier.

You almost don't even have to seize anything, but as part of a move on Taiwan, the Chinese

planners would definitely want to neutralize at least

northern Philippines so that it couldn't interfere with an assault on Taiwan but

with Marcos as president that's that's really not going to be easy to do. They probably can't do it.

So what they are doing is continuing the political warfare effort inside the Philippines, trying to build up opposition to the

Marcos administration and they're having some success at it but they've got a

ways to go. More of this later.
