She speaks to me from Prague about the report that Moldova, the next-door neighbor to Romania,

this is the Black Sea Basin, has called an emergency for

Mundi under threat, imminent threat, that Russia will cut off its natural gas that flows through

Transnistria. This means that the country will not have enough energy for its electricity

grid. It gets some from Romania.

Here, Antonio describes what's happening and why,

and this very much underlines the risk for the whole of the eastern part of Europe.

Pretty much, that's the case.

So Transnistria is not only a breakaway region, but also hosts some Russian military on its territory

to make certain that Transnistria remains somewhat independent of Moldova.

But at the same time, all natural gas is coming through, from Russia, is coming through

Transnistria.

And the electricity that goes into the energy system in Moldova is pretty much based on the natural gas coming through Transnistria.
