reason for the Islamic Republic to comply. Now, the main issue would be if they were to retaliate

by actually exiting the NPT, the treaty on the nonproliferation of nuclear weapons. If they were

to do that, that would be a major, major escalation. And that is most likely when that is the most common threat posed by parliamentarians and people close to the Supreme Leader.
