you know, I will say again, one of the reasons that I think I mentioned earlier that I'm very

grateful we didn't have a Trump-era toast is I think we've seen a lot of various forms of humor,

especially kind of like white-dominated forms of humor, and not to say that the toast was

exclusively white, but certainly, you know, that's both Nicole and I, and that's a pretty big chunk

of the toast. You know. Not that I think we ever

would have gone down the road of like the sort of like at replying Trump constantly calling him

Cheeto man, but like, you know, it's so dispiriting and it's so unfunny and it's so spirit crushing

to see a lot of different forms that humor has attempted to take in the last couple of years.

Mostly I think I'm just glad to have gotten the opportunity to not think of myself primarily as somebody whose job it is to make jokes rather than, you know, I have a sort of set of interests and and things I think are worth thinking through, talking through, sometimes

joking through, and often, I think I don't know in time in conversation with somebody else

if I feel like, I've made a joke here, but I'm not sure that the joke is the right way to lead,

or I actually think there's more opportunity for humor here than I had thought there was

previously. And certainly, I think I'm broadly sympathetic

with the idea of not using humor as a bludgeoning tool to sort of reinforce power structures

that are already in place. But I also don't know that I would say I think you can create a set

of rules for good, correct, morally upright humor and bad, transgressive,

wrong humor.

And we always know with Twitch and there's never a combination of the two.
