This is John Batcher, conversation with Dr. Doug Plata following SpaceX's success of Test V for Starship and Super Heavy.

We're discussing the next and the next and the vision for this

combination of a Starship that can travel to the Moon and Mars or low Earth orbit and super heavy which is

recovered in this in this test five meaning lowering the cost of tonnage into orbit and beyond the Earth Moon system.

Doug Plattah gives us a timeline to expect, knowing that Elon Musk, the guru driver of this operation, expects the timelines

to be beaten, not lost to.

2029, 2030, 2031, somewhere in that zone.

They're looking at cargo on the surface of Mars

and humans on the surface of Mars and humans on the surface of Mars pending events.

It's a step by step sort of thing.

They do need to continue doing these test launches.

They do, and I think there's going to be a challenge.

They're going to need to recover that upper stage

because that is the stage that's going to be used

to launch propellant up into lower orbit to a depot there that they are going to need to be able

to go to the moon and to Mars. And in terms of the timeline, I think that they are looking towards the late 20s probably 2027

perhaps to deliver cargo to the moon and in the later NASA astronauts and then they are

looking at actually 2026 to launch five of these starships trying to deliver cargo to the surface of Mars,

and depending on how well it goes, if they can safely and routinely land cargo and Mars, we're looking, the earliest would be 2029, I think that's very optimistic,
